The

Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck may be the default for the round, but please feel free to go with another if the cards are not speaking to you and you want more options. Go with what inspires you. :)

Find your alternative options here! Have a deck that you want to share? Showcase it! Want to see your cards converted into different decks? Ask someone to help you out here!

Think of this as a kind of deck-pimping post.

"Find your inspiration as you leap into a fantastical world of floating mermaids and dancing fairies with this mystical deck based on the Rider-Waite system.

Stephanie Pui-Mun Law's exquisite watercolor artwork blends Asian, Celtic, and fantasy themes inspired by fairy tales, myths, and folklore from cultures worldwide. Also included with this enchanting tarot deck is a pocket-sized booklet with snapshot interpretations of the cards' symbolic meanings by the artist and unique spreads by award-winning tarot expert Barbara Moore."

Created for the fifth entry of the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series. Based on the Tarot de Marseilles deck, but with a 'sinful' twist. Only designs for the Major Arcana were created.

A recreation on Etsy can be obtained here.

The Santa Muerte Tarot Deck: Book of the Dead is a "masterpiece of inspired imagery and a powerful tool for working with the mysticism associated with the Day of the Dead and Santa Muerte."

The deck I work with (and might end up using for this!) is the Wildwood tarot deck - it's inspired by Celtic and pre-Celtic archetypes and symbolism, specifically focusing on woodland imagery; it's always very down to earth when I work with it and I love it!

Hi! So, I saw that you have this deck and I think it's simply so stunning! Could I trouble you to take a picture of the 2 of Swords and Death cards? It's totally fine if that's too much trouble though!

The ones I have that haven't already been mentioned, are:

Circus of Fortune Tarot - this one is probably best for Major Arcana, as the Minor Arcana are very simplistic.

Rackham Tarot

English Magic Tarot

Tarot of the Haunted House

The one I've used is the Shakespearean Tarot - I just really love the quote that is associated with each card.

One of my favorites is Kat Black's Golden Tarot, which is made from digitally collaged works of Medieval and Early Modern art.

I have a copy of Wild Unknown (and Wild Unknown: Animal Spirits), and can offer pictures/book scans as appropriate. WU is black, white, and rainbow-y, with some shimmery bits. Art tends away from humans and humanoids; the court cards and major arcana show animals, and the other minor arcana show objects. There's also a "Tarot Basics" guide on the website here. The author does not provide interpretation advice for reversed cards.

WU:AS is aesthetically similar, but takes a serious left turn conceptually - I don't know that I'd really call it a tarot deck, although there are some equivalencies. However, I can also provide some images of that if people would find it helpful.

The only deck I own is Yamamoto Naoki's Japanese Myth deck, which is beautiful. Honestly, I just bought it because of how beautiful it is. You can see the full deck here.

The explanation booklet is great because it not only suggests interpretations and a few spreads, but also offers a few sentences about each card to explain the myth depicted (and why it fits the card in question). If anyone wants the descriptions of any individual cards, let me know--just give me a few days to translate from the Japanese.

Hi! This might be a little late to be useful for the anon posters, but for the non-anons and (hopefully!) future rounds, I've just gotten hold of the Linestrider and Fountain decks -- very different aesthetics, but great for creativity!

I also have the Wild Unknown and Shadowscapes -- already listed above, but always good to have multiple sources, right? :)
